On Tuesday May 5, 2009 we were pleased to welcome Daxton Cole Lovell into our lives. Following a sleepless Monday night for Kari, I took her to the hospital around 9:00 Tuesday morning and began preparations for the birth. Once at the hospital her contractions seemed to get easier and slow down causing some frustrations, but at about 1:00 her Dr. came over and broke her water which seemed to speed things up a little. She later received an epidural because she was too exhausted from no sleep the night before to go much longer natural. About an hour after getting the epidural she started running a fever which caused some concern for the hospital staff because they couldn't figure out what caused it. We were then told that for precautionary reasons Daxton would be kept in the NICU for 2-3 days on antibiotics. Then a few hours later it was time to push; and at 9:24 pm our little Daxton was born weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. As you can see from the pictures he has a fair amount of light brown hair, which Kari was extremely excited about. Anyways this is our news for the next little bit, sorry this post is so short but that's the way I roll.

I just showed the pictures to Jordan and Emilee and they loved them. Jordan said, "Daxton, I don't know if I can remember that." Funny boy. He should be able to though because when he says it it sounds close to Jaxon.

Oh I bet you are just thrilled!!! How fun, you both did a great job he is a beautiful little man! Sounds like you had a little scare, but I am so glad to hear that everything went well and that you were able to get a epidural...I was not that lucky :( they don't offer those up here all. Anyway congrats and have a blast with your little guy, and that is a great name!
ok....congratulations....he is such a cutie pie...i was just going to text you the other day and ask you when your due date was but HELLO...you had him. Well i am so happy for you all and hope everything went fine and that you are enjoying your little guy..they grow up fast so PLEASE enjoy him while he is little.
I hope that all is going well I have been thinking of you all but, don’t know then a good time to call is. I would hate to mess up any rest time you might be getting. I hope all is well.

I'm a little late but better late than never, right. I'm proud of you Bert (I bet you love it still when I call you that. Just remember it is with love and I'm the only one allowed.
