WE'RE BAAAAAAACK!!!

Well for right now we are back at least...we'll see how long it lasts! :) It has only been a year and a half and I guess we finally got nagged enough to actually put something new on here. I'm not sure how to catch up on this much time so we decided to just make a slide show of some of the highlights and show how much Dax has grown up and changed. Hope you enjoy if anyone even looks here anymore!

Daxton

Just a quick update for whoever is crazy enough to follow this blog. Daxton had his 3 week (supposed to be 2) Dr.'s appointment today and came in weighing 9 lbs. 1 oz. and 21.5 inches long. Our thoughts that he was growing now have proof. But as far as what we have been up to... well I can't think of much. I've been getting some decent sleep; Kari on the other hand, not so much. We did go up to Leamington for Memorial weekend with the intent to help my dad with some of his cattle. That however didn't really pan out, so we ended up just having fun with my parents and John, Chelsea and Easton. We also got to show off our new addition to G & G Petersen. Other than that we've just been getting some help from Kari's family, which has been very nice of them. Well enough about us, I'll get to what you all actually care about: pics of Dax!

Cinco De Mayo!!!

On Tuesday May 5, 2009 we were pleased to welcome Daxton Cole Lovell into our lives. Following a sleepless Monday night for Kari, I took her to the hospital around 9:00 Tuesday morning and began preparations for the birth. Once at the hospital her contractions seemed to get easier and slow down causing some frustrations, but at about 1:00 her Dr. came over and broke her water which seemed to speed things up a little. She later received an epidural because she was too exhausted from no sleep the night before to go much longer natural. About an hour after getting the epidural she started running a fever which caused some concern for the hospital staff because they couldn't figure out what caused it. We were then told that for precautionary reasons Daxton would be kept in the NICU for 2-3 days on antibiotics. Then a few hours later it was time to push; and at 9:24 pm our little Daxton was born weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and 20 inches long. As you can see from the pictures he has a fair amount of light brown hair, which Kari was extremely excited about. Anyways this is our news for the next little bit, sorry this post is so short but that's the way I roll.
